Frank Bell was a most interesting addition to the clinician staff. While he did a great deal of teaching, gentling of yearlings and problem solving, he was as enthusiastic about learning as anyone at the workshop. A good horseman is always learning and Frank was constantly analyzing everything that was going on.
Frank demonstrated a real "up close and personal" relationship to the horses he handled. He would maintain close contact and follow every movement with the horse, exploiting every opportunity to get the horse to release, accept and get comfortable with his presence.
Frank quickly adapted to John Sharp's pole technique which made those first approaches much more predictable and less hazardous. He got pretty good at "polling for horses" by the end of the week.
