LRTC Wild Horse Mentors'
WILD HORSE WORKSHOP '99
Part 9

Robert Denlinger

Robert is one of the more interesting members of the program. He is the one to which folks on the east coast bring their "hopeless cases." Having worked for years out in the Nevada range, he's all natural horseman and has a whole repertoire of mannerisms and techniques for gaining a horse's attention in a non-threatening manner.

Robert focused primarily on troubled horses including a couple that were mishandled and had significant behavioral problems such as the stallion shown on the right.

Robert is also known for his practical jokes and other rather strange antics, as recorded in this sequence. I'm not sure what Robert and Jill had going here, but he seemed to have become a bit overwhelmed.

Wild Horse Adoptions
Adopting wild horses to citizens is a humane way of dealing with the wild horse and burro population problem. The key to success is educating adopters in safe and humane approaches to gentling, training and caring for their adopted animals.
