A Participant's Perspective
The wind did not whisper through the trees, but with great fury ravaged the
village that layed so peacefully beneath the trembling boughs. A oneness
pervaded, the children who follow the wildones pulled together in a valant
effort to bring a stop to the sorrowful events that happen when there is a
lacking of knowledge and support. As the 'Mists of Antioch' crept
closer, shrouding the village in a piercing cold, these people of vast
integrity fought back with moments of pure tearful wonder as they watched
on, so caught up in the awesome moment that the world outside ceased to
exist. Granted there was many a folly, as such happens in any situation,
but far outranking these brief moments was the overwhelming togetherness,
and deep-seeded cohesiveness that belongs only to those people who rode the
currents and miles for a single agreeable purpose: To bring man and beast
together in a safe and loving manner. I will forever dry my eyes when I
remember back to that shortlived village; a haphazard crew come together in
blazing glory that will now be echoed many times over because we not only
survived, but invoked a precedent that cannot be ignored. Hail my new and
old beloved friends, my heart will always weep with gentle memories when I
cast my thoughts back into the not-so distant past, for it is the memory of
your smiling faces that brings the light of joy to my eyes. Thank you all
for touching me so.
