For those of you not familiar, singer-songwriter Lacy J. Dalton is a mainstay in wild horse politics in Northern Nevada. She is president of the Let 'Em Run Foundation, a non profit organization dedicated to establishing permanent wild horse preserves for the Virginia Range wild horses. The Virginia Range herd is the largest remaining herd of wild horses in North America and they range primarily on private lands.

In 2003 the Let 'Em Run Foundation won the Governor's Tourism Development Award.

Lacy will be flying back from California where she is currently performing to help Gene celebrate his exceptional life. Lacy will also be accepting, on behalf of Let 'Em Run, a check from Wal-Mart for funds that will go towards the development of permanent wild horse preserves in Northern Nevada.
